- Bear Run Entrance Update Clay County Transportation MeetingPosted on: 2009-01-01Hello Neighbors
The Bear Run entrance issues of road repair, drainage, signage, and striping were addressed at a recent committee meeting in Green Cove Springs. Our Honorable Commissioner Doug Conkey presented our concerns before the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee meeting on Dec. 22, 2008. You can go to the Clay County Government link http://www.claycountygov.com/ click on the committee meeting dated archive and get a video feed of the meeting and discussion.
In short, the upgrade to our neighborhood is still under review, with some valid engineering issues looming, the best and most cost effective way to address and correct the roadway 'wash out' problem being paramount. Some other changes to the entrance are forthcoming due to new FDOT retention pond placement in conjuction with the eventual road widening of SR21 are slated as well. Many thanks to Commissioner Conkey for keeping this issue moving forward and also a 'BIG' thank you to the Clay County Public Works team for their outstanding performance in cleaning up and restoring the functionality of our retention ponds along North Bee Street.
